Houston Dash NWSL has officially traded defender Michelle Alozie to Chicago Stars FC on a three-year deal. The trade, which includes $40,000 in allocation money, ensures Alozie will remain with Chicago through the 2028 NWSL season. Alozie began her professional journey with Houston Dash in 2021, initially stepping in as a national team replacement player before securing a full roster position. During her rookie season, she made four appearances, totaling 114 minutes on the pitch. In 2022, Alozie contributed significantly to the Dash's success, scoring two goals in ten regular-season matches and helping the club reach the NWSL playoffs for the first time.

Following a two-year contract extension, Alozie had a standout 2023 season, finishing as one of the top scorers for Houston Dash NWSL with four goals. In total, she has recorded seven goals and two assists over 75 regular-season appearances, including 33 starts. Alozie's impressive performance also extended to the international stage, where she was part of Nigeria’s squad that won the WAFCON 2024, scoring a crucial stoppage-time goal against South Africa to secure a spot in the final.

Chicago Stars General Manager Richard Feuz praised Alozie's versatility and leadership, stating that her experience will be invaluable as the team builds towards the 2026 season. Alozie expressed her enthusiasm about the move, stating, "I’m super excited to join Chicago Stars in this next journey of my career. There’s so much change happening here, and I’m looking forward to being a part of that growth."

This trade marks a significant moment for both Houston Dash NWSL and Alozie, as she embarks on a new chapter in her career while the Dash look to fill the gap left by her departure. Fans will be keen to see how both teams adapt to these changes in the upcoming NWSL season.
